rpm-ostree
rpm-ostree is een softwarepakket dat uw computer instelt op een nieuwe wijze van softwarebeheer. In uw bestandssysteem wordt een systeem voor versiebeheer gemaakt. Als uw software vernieuwd moet worden of als u extra toepassingsprogramma's installeert dan wordt de nieuwe software in dat systeem voor versiebeheer geladen. Pas als u uw systeem daarna opnieuw opstart heeft u uw oorspronkelijke software bijgewerkt en kunt u ook de extra software gebruiken. Een voordeel van deze nieuwe wijze van softwarebeheer is dat men altijd naar een vorige softwareconfiguratie terug kan keren.
